Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
Responsible for efficiently utilising tools and resources for preparing, planning and implementing Internal and external transportation movements to ensure safe, cost effective and first class service delivery with excellent customer engagement. Duties include:
•Focal Point for the planning of clients' transport requirements, assisting other Transport Planners as required.
•Utilise TMS (Transport Management System) effectively ensuring cargo is efficiently collected and delivered and presented accurately for invoicing in line with individual customer requirements.
•Create and recreate jobs and journeys from pending materials pushed through from QMS, based on sailing time, ensuring maximum efficiency and not impacting vessels.
•Discuss collections with vendors to confirm cargo for collection matches. Discuss timings and loading sequence to ensure Cargo is collected in line with vessel Loading/Sailing times.
•Review collection times v scheduled work plan. Communicating any late arrivals for collections to vendors/shipping teams.
•Support Transport Controllers as requested and required, ensuring Sub-Contractor timings and chargeable work are captured accurately at the time.
•Ensure chargeable work is entered correctly and validate chargeable work prior to invoicing, including hours to be billed.
•Review Power BI reports identifying areas for improvement.
•Attend Morning Calls as required and update on priorities, transport resource and any other relevant information. cascade to Transport Team.
•Reviewing vehicle tracking system to reduce inefficiencies and improve performance
•Vehicles and trailers required for inspection and MOTs to ensure compliance for O Licence
•Resources planning duties for vehicle allocations, daily trailer check and billing of trailers,
•Arranging distance work, processing abnormal loads and assisting Operations when required
Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)
•Experience of Road Transport Legislation, including driver’s hours regulations
•Experience in a similar Operations based planning role
•Commercially Aware with strong communication and interpersonal skills
•Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to adapt and learn other systems
•Collaborative team player with a proactive attitude
•Calm and focused under pressure, able to adapt to tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
•Solutions orientated and driven to deliver exceptional performance and customer service, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Desirable Qualifications/Competencies
•An attention to detail, the ability to analyse and report data, and excellent planning and organising skills.
•Experience of a Transport Management System
