37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday. This role is eligible for hybrid working, 3 days in the office/2 days from home.
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to take ownership of the UK HR function, ensuring the smooth delivery of day-to-day HR operations while supporting the successful implementation of Group strategy across the UK business. The HR Manager will champion a positive employee experience, facilitate organisational change, and ensure full compliance with UK employment legislation and HR best practices. This is a highly operational, hands-on role and there is a requirement to travel to other ASCO UK locations as operationally necessary including, but not restricted to, Peterhead, Great Yarmouth and Teesside. Duties include:
•Ensure effective day to day support is delivered by the HR Operations team including but not limited to disciplinary investigations and hearings, grievances, absence management, performance management, flexible working requests, maternity etc.
•Support the business in effectively assessing and progressing organisational reviews, redundancy processes, TUPE transfers etc ensuring that support for such activity is delivered in an accurate and timely manner and that business focused risk-assessed solutions are identified as and when necessary.
•Act as a Business Partner to UK Business Unit Managers, ensuring that regular and open communication is maintained to support the early identification of key matters for action and determine the most effective means to progress these.
•Guide the HR team and business in Unionised consultation and negotiation processes, preparing and participating in meetings such as pay reviews as and when required.
•Act as Focal point with the recognised Trade Union and on behalf of ASCO for the Energy Services Agreement.
•Ensure full awareness of legislative requirements is understood by the HR Operational team and wider HR team as appropriate, managing the communication and understanding of this with Business Unit Managers.
•Coordinate and deliver management reporting for the HR department and business units as and when required.
•Ownership of HR related UK policies and procedures, ensuring these are reviewed on a regular basis for effectiveness and practicality, and at all times ensuring they remain compliant with legal requirements.
•Coordinate HR activity to support the expansion of operations into new geographical areas of the UK and supply of appropriate resource as required.
•Contribute to, and act as HR lead on, commercial bids and tenders as and when required.
•Ensure the effective management and control of employee records, correspondence and sharing of information with relevant departments as required.
•Oversee the delivery of end-to-end recruitment activity in line with the Company’s recruitment processes.
•Manage and monitor business compliance with all mandatory training and competency matters.
•Adhoc project work as and when required.
•Regularly review the service delivery of the HR Operations team identifying and delivering on areas for improvement
•Support the Group Head of People & Culture in delivering specific HR related projects including Graduate and Apprentice recruitment and the Employee Satisfaction Survey, as well as any adhoc project work as and when required.
Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)
•Extensive knowledge of UK employment law
•Demonstrable experience of leading, managing and developing HR teams.

•Strong analytical skills with the ability to research produce and present clearly articulated, well-structured reports using qualitative and quantitative data.
•Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications

Minimum Qualifications
•Membership of Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) - level 7 or equivalent experience.
•Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications
•Previous HR Management experience.
•Experience working in a unionised environment, including leading negotiations.
