We have an exciting opportunity to join our Commercial Team in Aberdeen. We are looking for a Contracts Manager to support our growing operations. Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial, this role will oversee the effective coordination and management of all UK commercial and contractual administration matters. This includes, but is not limited to: proposals, contract amendments, escalations, and renewals. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced contracts professional to play a key role in driving our commercial success.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage all commercial activity across all contracts covering both NUK and SUK in addition to ad-hoc support for new international business units.
- Develop and implement best practice processes across key areas of the Commercial process
- Work with ASCO's Legal team to review and agree appropriate terms for contracts and other legal agreements as necessary to mitigate risk exposure and ensure compliance with ASCO policy, or otherwise obtain approval to deviate therefrom
- Manage all customers proposals for across the UK in line with new commercial procedures that have been developed across ASCO globally
- Manage all customer escalations with all proposals adhering to customers advance notification clause to ensure, where possible, that agreement is in place for contract start
- Work with Finance and Business Unit Managers, specifically Fuels, to ensure that payment terms are clear within contracts and are adhered to
- Create and maintain contracts register ensuring complete visibility of all contracts is clear, contract renewal periods are detailed and values of each contract are in line with ongoing activity and volumes
- Assist in pricing activities, working closely alongside Pricing Analysts and Finance Teams
- Preparation of preliminary and final proposal reviews to the ASCO Management Board, in line with the Delegation of Authority
- Ensure the team's adherence to tight deadlines to ensure timely submissions
- Compilation of clarification responses with input from all associated business functions, including preparation of an additional bid review where required (for new contracts not handled by the Tendering function)
- Lead and support Contracts Advisors on commercial negotiations, working closely alongside ASCO's Key Account Managers and Legal Team
- Manage the development of proposals for new and existing customers - providing expert guidance to the UK business leadership team to ensure all commercial and contracting principles are adhered to.
- Final review of proposal and contract documentation prior to Management approval
- Lead (where required) and support with internal Contract kick-off meetings for significant new contracts/amendments to ensure understanding of the contractual, commercial and technical deliverables/risks across Operations, Finance and Administration.
- Manage the preparation and compilation of contract variations and amendments
- Prepare and maintain annual internal contract audit and review plan
- Maintain up to date Commercial information to support Management reporting
- Work with the Finance/Sales teams to ensure all rate or scope changes are updated within AX for billing.
- Support the communication of substantive changes to client contract values, rates or service to the business
- Prepare monthly reports to articulate working being undertaken by the team and what is planned for future months
- Manage all team members on day to day activities whilst undertaking regular performance reviews of each persons' work and objectives
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree educated
- Full UK driving licence
Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours):
- Oil and Gas industry contractual and commercial experience
- Sound understanding of contracts and contractual terminology
- Ability to provide commercially focused and pragmatic advice
- Numeracy and ability to effectively interpret financial information
- Communicate confidently with internal and external stakeholders, especially with regard to relaying contractual/commercials matters and ensuring compliance with mandatory requirements
- Effective written and oral communicator
- Detail focussed and obsessive about accuracy and clarity
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities effectively
- Ability to meet challenging timelines
- Customer orientated
Desirable Qualifications/Competencies:
- Good knowledge and experiences of industry standard conditions such as LOGIC etc
- Financial background/experience
