Hours of Work: 8am - 5pm [ 1 hour unpaid lunch break ]
The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, containerising and despatching material within the Transit Shed in a safe and timely manner and in compliance with all procedures, standing instructions, legislation and safety standards.
•Provide operational cover within all functions concerning Receipts, Despatch, Packing and Returns
•Develop and maintain strong working relationships with client contacts to assist with the efficient operation of PO Receipts & control of material
•Maintain and prepare for shipment functions in line with agreed procedures
•Accurately use client systems; SAP / WELS system
•Investigate discrepancies and control all client's material
•Accurately complete all documentation pertaining to the shipment of material
•Correctly pack all material as per Client and ASCO requirements and procedures
•Contribute toward high standards of housekeeping being maintained at all times within the transit shed and yard areas
•Maintain an accurate, auditable record of activities within your area of work
•Ensure the correct use of forklifts and lifting equipment as set out in legislative and procedural policy; If authorised to carry out lifting activities (Forklift Operations / Banksman & Slinger duties), ensure that they are carried out in accordance with the Company’s Group Operating Procedures and Global Lifting Procedures
•Pro-actively contribute to a culture of safety excellence - e.g., attend and contribute to safety briefings, raise LSIs, undertake Live Safe Interventions when appropriate
Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)

•Knowledge of Cargo Handling Best Practice
•Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
•Ability to present a positive company image through first class customer service delivery and customer engagement
•Ability to adapt to changing situations
•Reliable and conscientious, with good time management skills
•Good communicator and ability to work under pressure and unsupervised
•Proactive in seeking and implementing ways to improve operational performance
•Experience in CCU checking and Oil Spill Awareness
Minimum Qualifications
•Current Forklift Certificate
•Dangerous Goods Awareness
