Reporting to the Transport and Operations Manager, this role is responsible for supervising nightshift drivers and cargo operations, ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant operation while making effective use of resources. Key duties include:
•Lead and supervise drivers (ASCO, agency, sub-contractors), ensuring full compliance with operational procedures, load security, and Dangerous Goods regulations.
•Take full control of nightshift transport operations, acting as the main point of contact during shift hours.
•Ensure all vehicles, loads, and documentation meet legal and company compliance standards before departure.
•Oversee yard operations and cargo marshalling in line with vessel schedules and planning systems.
•Maximise fleet utilisation, driving efficiency and reducing idle time and empty running.
•Deploy resources effectively across operations, arranging cost-efficient call outs where required.
•Work closely with planners to align nightshift priorities and ensure accurate job allocation to drivers.
•Monitor performance, address issues promptly, and recover any missed chargeable work.
•Support operations hands-on when required (artic/tug master), holding relevant licences.
•Manage duty phone and deliver clear end-of-shift handovers.

Minimum Qualifications
•LGV Class 1 License
Desirable Qualifications/Competencies
•Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
